Szia! Meg kell mondjam, nem mindennapi feladatot kaptatok! A fantáziámat használva megpróbáltam a lehető legtöbb pontot bevonva elemezni egy elképzelt festményt. Remélem, sikerült valami hasznosat írnom. :)

Autumn landscape (1868)

This piece of artwork is an oil painting from the 19th century. It suggests the theme of a certain kind of romantic gloom by using earthy, dark-toned colors and illustrating the forest in the background and the meadow in the foreground as if a rainstorm was about to struck. The brown atmospheric haze supposably symbolizes melancholy and restrained feelings that - considering the assumption about the coming storm - are hard to keep for oneself and are about to erupt. Hence the painting may belong to the movement of symbolism.
The dark, earthy tones, the way the meadow is positioned in the center and the considerable distance between the forest trees reveal gloom experienced individually and in an isolated way.
Besides, the artist uses slightly blurred lines, several convex shapes, and the texture of oil paint smeared with probaly a sponge to further intensify the effect.
A number of pictorial principles are realized in the painting as well. The meadow in the foreground is not only emphasized by its position but also because the tones used to color the grass with are slightly different from the ones used for the forest trees. It can also be seen that the trees are towering over the meadow, i.e. they are illustrated proportionately much larger than average oak trees. The unity of colors and shapes used suggests that the artist intended to be consequent and wanted to create a sort of balance in the picture.
And finally, the artist used oil paint on canvas to convey his or her ideas.
