Sir Isaac Newton, English mathematician, physicist and astronomer, was born on 4 January 1643 in Woolsthorpe, Lincolnshire, England. He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in 1665 and a master's degree in 1668. Newton is famous for his pioneering work in calculus, optics and the laws of motion. One of Newton's most significant discoveries was the development of the calculus, which he made in the 1660s. He also formulated the laws of motion and universal gravitation, which explained how objects move and interact with each other. Newton's contribution to science was invaluable and his work is still influential today. Newton was not awarded the Nobel Prize because it was not founded in his lifetime. However, he was knighted by Queen Anne in 1705 for his significant contribution to science. Newton never married and had no children. He devoted much of his life to his work and research. He died of natural causes in London on 31 March 1727, aged 84. Newton's contribution to science forever changed our understanding of the universe and the laws that govern it.
